Breastfeeding past infancy – very special

In honour of World Breastfeeding Week.

Go check out some lovely posts about breastfeeding on CodeNameMama.

I feel extremely blessed to be able to still breastfeed my little one. Nothing is as special as being able to pull her closer to me at night while she feeds and we can both go back to sleep! It is a very special time!

  1. I believe that the bond between the two of you are going to be amazing always.

  2. I breastfed our little girl (who is now 3) till 20 months and then had to stop as we wanted to have another baby and I was just not falling pregnant, I stopped feeding our little boy at 14 months (4 months ago) and I miss it so much! Enjoy every moment it really is a special time.

  3. I cannot really comment on breastfeeding, because I did not breastfeed my twin girls. It turned out to be just too much work with two babies that had to be fed every two hours.

I am 45 and have five children, ages 22, 17, 9, 7 and 2. I have breastfeed all of them past infancy. It's a wonderful thing.

  6. Trudy: 22 and 2 - that is a huge gap! :D Well done with the BF!~

Java: That's great that your youngest never got a bottle. Unfortunately I am a working mother, and we had to do the bottle thing!

Life is like a box of chocolates: I can't imagine how difficult it would be BF twins.

Heidi: I know I am going to miss it as well! For now I am continuing untill she tells me it's enough!

I love to hear your comments :D
