Goodbye 2018 |
Miss Fine finished Grade 4 on a high note. She had an excellent report card, and we are so much more relaxed and ready for Grade 5. Grade 4 was a culture shock, but mostly for the Mom. We learnt that Life is a choice, not an excuse.
The Eldest got married in what was the best Wedding Party Ever. We managed it with the lowest of low budgets ever, and it was one for the books. A beautiful rustic wedding. Thanks to my daughter and her MIL. I was a M.O.B. (Mother of the Bride), and I loved seeing my daughter so happy. This has truly been the highlight of 2018. It has also been a bit sad, because my daughter moved out to start her own life. Finally, but we miss her face so much.
2018 has also came to learn me something, again. It seems I did not learn it the first time in my life. I has made we Wordless about Life. What do you say when the budget is not enough to cover living costs, and we are losing our house? It has shaken me to the core, and has left me despondent as hell.
On the last day of 2018 I am fearful as well as hopeful for the new year. Hopeful that 2019 will bring good things to help us get past this. I am trying my utmost to see Life working it's magic here. To know that all will be good in the end! One day, not too far away, we will laugh ourselves silly about this slight "upheaval" in our lives.
Hope your 2018 was good, and if it was hard, that 2019 will be much better!
Thank you, 2018, you kicked us hard, but we are still standing! You made us strong, again!
2018 showed me that we have resilience to stay strong.
What did 2018 teach you?
Sounds like a mixed bag. Just remember that money can come and go but your loved ones are still there and that is something to be grateful for.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Heather, for this. It puts everything in perspective! I can't imagine losing my loved One such as you have... I value your input.
DeleteI had a mixed bag too. Hope the icky bits get infinity better for you this year, and the good bits get even better.
