Seeman's Deck & Deli - great for the kids

Seeman's Deck & Deli

We are always searching for new places to go with the Little Miss.

The preconditions include the following:
  - Great food
  - Great play area
  - Safe play area
  - Good service

We found this spot last Saturday on Beyers Naude at the Heathway Centre. They are still busy finishing off the playground on the other side. But there was more than enough to keep the children busy.

I am not that much into Seeman's, because they have a lot of meat, but most of the people that I spoke to don't have a problem with it. The food is very tasty, and for breakfast we had a great spread.

The play area definitely gets a thumbs up!

Little Missy climbed to the top,
but she felt a little bit unsure going down

We told the waiter we were in a bit of a hurry, and the service was prompt.
It was a cold day, but the parents with children were sitting outside to soak up the little bit of winter sun!

We will be going back!

George Hay Park - a lovely outdoor venue for the family

We spent the rest of Election Day last week at George Hay Park in Parkview. There were food trucks parked for the day.
It is a stunning suburban park run by the resident's association of the area.

It was packed with families, but there were enough space for everybody, and the children could play while their parents enjoyed a picnic.

Little Missy wanted a kite for ages, and we finally had a place to fly it!

The play grounds (there are a couple in the park) kept all the children busy!

Definitely a place to go back to!

Play ground friendships

Play ground politics can be a daunting venture for any little one...

Walking up to strangers and asking them to play with you!

Up until this day I haven't mastered the skill!
I was just too shy as a child, and I could usually be found hanging round my mother's knees...

That's why I am so extremely pleased that I have daughters who find it much easier to make new friends.
Maybe it is the day care that makes them used being around other children, but I suspect it is also their personalities that makes it easier on them...

Phew! I love it that they can make friends more easily than me!

There is nothing more important than having friends!

OrangoTango's

OrangoTango's is a great party place for the little one's! We went there on Saturday afternoon, and the toddlers had a ball!

It is an indoor play area, and there are more than enough for the little one's to keep them busy. What I enjoyed the most, is that we could sit and drink a coffee, while they disappeared into a heaven of fun stuff! Slides, and pits of balls, and swings, and ball play areas...

I would come here again for a party! The kids are definitely sorted here!

What I did not enjoy was the fact that you have to pay R50 for an hour per kid. It makes it expensive, especially nowadays when there are play areas like Papachinos. We had to watch the clock, and make sure we did not go over an hour...

I also missed being outside, because the weather are lovely here! But I would think that it would be great during winter months...

Some more pics
Sometimes I wish I was small like them.
We did not have fun stuff like this when we were small... ;-)

A little bit of children's heaven in our part of the valley

We got a Papachinos just around the corner, and it looks like children's heaven multiplied with 5 or something.
They opened up this week, and already they are fully booked. We were just lucky to get a place for breakfast on Saturday!

The pictures tell the story!
The service was not great, but it is still early days...
What is a little bit of waiting when your child can occupy herself for hours on end?

Now, when does she leaves us at our table and run off on her own? (Wink smile!)

Movie Clip Monday #13 - Fetching the toddler at day care

My best time of the day is when I go to pick up the Toddler at day care. That happy face when she finally sees you... There is nothing that makes it worthwhile more than this!
