We had the Instax Mini 40 camera for a week to test out. We were pleasantly surprised with the clarity of the photos, especially since it's an entry-level camera. We would recommend this one especially when you want to start your journey with instant photography. At a retail price of R1399 it is totally worth it.

We give it a 5/5 for being one of the best when you are searching for the instant gratification of an immediate photo in hand which is also of great quality!

REASONS WHY WE LOVE THE INSTAX MINI 40

- Best Automatic Exposure: The Automatic Exposure seems like the best we have seen on the Instax series. All our photos came out great. For an instant print, this feature is much-needed, since you can't choose your photo after you have clicked the button.

- Best Selfies: The ‘Selfie mode’ is initiated by pulling out the front edge of the camera’s lens after powering it on, making sure that any image taken from close up (30 cm – 50 cm) is in focus. The automatic exposure feature again makes sure we take the best photos, instantly!

- Great good-looking Gadget: The Mini 40 is powered by two AA-batteries (included), and with a weight of only 330g (without batteries, strap and film) the camera is extremely portable.

Add onto this look with an Instax stylish black camera case with stitching detail and a shoulder strap. This camera adds instant cool fashionista appeal!

- Ease of use: The Instax Mini 40 also uses Fujifilm's Mini Film, which is real easy to load, and print out a photo in 90 seconds. Once again, the automatic exposure feature do the work for you.

- Variety of photo formats: There's a variety of film types available. We LOVE the new "Contact Sheet" (see the 2 photos above) format. The stylised black border design imitates a contact sheet, traditionally developed by film photographers in photographic dark rooms. The Contact Sheet film pack contains ten prints and can be used in all Instax Mini cameras.
