How to clean your computer, smartphone and tablet - Cleanipedia tips

                                                                                                                  *Trade Exchange

We have become much more conscious of cleaning in these pandemic times (Covid-19 Corona Virus times). It is lock-down day 57 here in South Africa. I am spending more time when I get into the office to clean my workplace, and also my smartphone. I have also been keen to know if I am doing it right. The Cleanipedia portal has some very useful tips for cleaning, I have been spraying anti-bacterial sprays on tissues/paper towels when cleaning my electronic devices. It's not too far off the mark, but it is great to get some extra insights.

Cleanipedia has the following suggestions to clean your smartphone. See also their tips on cleaning your laptop, keyboard and other electronic devices.

Kindness Online

Kind
I am a subscriber to the Screenagers Movie newsletters. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I definitely want to in the future. It is a movie that all parents should watch. The impact of screens on our children's lives are not yet fully understood, and the consequences will only be comprehended much later... We hope it won't be too late. See the trailer below.

As much as I am an advocate for the use of technology and how much it is enhancing our lives, I am also aware that we should control this tool and not the other way round!

The latest newsletter is about encouraging small acts of kindness online! As it is the month of kindness, and kind is my word of the year, I love this idea! Sometimes you don't know how to be kind! Is it only the money I give at the robot (traffic light), or are there other ways in my daily life to be kind?  How do I teach my children to be kind online?

Huawei P9 launched with magnificent camera features #OO

Huawei P9, cellphone, phone, Huawei, P9, P9 Plus, P9 Light,
Huawei P9 launch at The Sandton Convention Centre

The Huawei P9 launch last night was a WOW start for the Huawei P9 phones being launched in South Africa today. Glammer, glitz, surprises, fun and stunning food! We were totally impressed!

The Huawei P9 phone seems to be the phone you want when you are always taking photos and selfies. With your smartphone!

Huawei has reinvented smartphone photography by using Leica technology to combine two lenses. It incorporates colour and black and white to give a crystal clear picture and 270% more light. It also gives precise imaging when you want to shoot those fast-paced photos without having to take numerous photos to get one shot! With the phone you can get images as good as a professional photographer!!

The specifications can be found here: Huawei P9

Another one of the great phones to consider when you are in the market for a new smartphone! We will definitely consider it for its camera technology.

We are not selfie-worthy anymore, but even this phone made us look good last night! (Why did I not take more selfies, and captured it?)

This photo-op was done on a Huawei P9.

It was a RAD function:

How you roll on your way to classroom

Little Missy inherited her sister's old BBM smartphone.
She is very impressed for being able to jump between icons, and typing rows and rows of "messages".
This morning she had to show her teacher her phone, and was very "occupied" on her way to the classroom.

I think I spotted a few raised eyebrows, or maybe it was just me?

But don't worry. There is no sim in the phone, and I took it home with me! :-)

foursquare withdrawal symptoms

It's been a week since I deleted the foursquare app on my phone.
(I blame it as the main culprit for my BlackBerry going on a strike...)

But it's been difficult:

- I get hit by a twinge of regret every time I do not sign in.
- I feel as I am neglecting a social duty or something.
- It feels as if I am letting my "friends on foursquare" down.
- I get totally uptight when I get a notification that I have lost my mayorship, and I can't rectify my status!
- I love working towards the goal of mayorship or a badge! Now I am extremely sad that I would not be able to work towards another "goal".

I recognise the danger signals...

Everybody around me looks at me with a frown when I insist to sign in at a place.
(They just don't get it!)

I am the forever optimist that believes in the concept of foursquare, but is seems in Africa it is still going to take a while decade century!

In the meantime...

Points for myself that I will not be left in limbo for not being able to sign in:

- I have never received a discount or special on anything with any sign-in.
- I can vent my frustration at bad service on other social media platforms.
- Mayorships and badges does not really count for anything. I cannot put it on my CV.
- My BlackBerry works perfectly without it.
- Most of my friends are not on foursquare. I can still connect with them in real life!
- I do not have to walk around in shops or restaurants trying to sign in with bad reception signals, and frustrating my friends and family...
- I can relax. There is nothing I have to do!

Deleting...

Do you still use foursquare?
