About us

About me

I am an older working mum, with a Grade 9 girl of of 14 years. I got remarried again 18 years ago.
I have an eldest working daughter of 29 from a previous marriage. She is now married, working and their daughter has been born a few months ago! I can safely say I have the most cutest granddaughter ever! :-)

This makes me a grandmother! It is such a joy, and such a blessing to have a little one in our family. The spoils have started!

We live in urban Johannesburg in South Africa. We are enjoying our mixed family life, especially with the youngest, Miss Fine, who makes us look at life in challenging new ways. We wouldn't want this any other way.

And most of the times sometimes , I am Powerwoman ;-)

That's me! The better version of me! ;-)
Powerwoman is a go-getter in life.
She is able to juggle work and home with ease.
Powerwoman is a wonderful mother, and a great wife!
She is an activist and a feminist.

Whenever I need a bit of extra Powerwoman power, I revert back to her.
Powerwoman always do the right things!
Powerwoman is very opinionated, and always speaks her mind!
(I do love Powerwoman.
One day I will be the Powerwoman I wish to be!)

The blog is about becoming a parent again after the age of 40, the second time after 15 years. It's all about new beginnings. It is about being a working mum, and married for a second time around.
Little Missy came in December 2008. The meaning of her name is "new fountain" in Japanese. (Although I can't find the e-place where we initially found the meaning of her name? But we are sticking to the meaning of it. Smile.)

My life has been about new beginnings; coming from a bad emotional manipulative first marriage, but doing it again with a wonderful husband. I do not regret any of my life, because that is why Powerwoman came into being as well. We are all stronger than we think we are. And we have a beautiful eldest daughter to share our lives with!

We are in awe of the miracle of our youngest! Miss Fine keeps us very busy, but we are enjoying her becoming her own. Her dad thinks she is the most beautiful girl, ever! (Of course!) She has challenged all our thoughts about parenting, and there is never a dull moment! (No sarcasm here.)
We hope we can help her to become her most awesome self!

I am smiling (sometimes with teeth grinding) about the daily grind and rat race that we find ourselves in her at the south point of Africa. It is indeed very interesting times...
