We sold our house, and we have to move soon

Change is not easy. As much as we know we are working towards a larger goal, it is difficult to let go of our own space, and our stuff. We sold our house, and everything has moved much faster than expected. We have a month to find a new place.

I love my house. Even more so now that we are looking for other spaces to call home...
We are lucky that we found a buyer in the economic climate, and who gave us our asking price. But now we have to fit our stuff into a new smaller space which is not customized...

Breathe, Karen!

It will be okay!

We will be challenged immensely by our hoarder tendencies, and Miss Fine even more so. (Breathe, Karen!)

My previous life already gave me the experience of letting go of everything. We did not stay! We could not take most of our things because of threats and violence. In the end it was the most liberating thing to start afresh!

I know it will be best to just let go, but we never got anything easy in life. All our stuff was acquired over years, and passed on from family. There's a lot of memories and sentiments attached to each and every thing.

So, there's change here! Major change!

I tend to "hibernate" (shutting down) when I'm stressed, but we can do this...
Watch this space!

Is it worth holding on to things, or to just let go?
Maybe (definitely) I know the answer, but it would be lovely to hear what you think?

  1. I am also not good at letting go. I took a year to declutter the house. It's good to have a fresh start but moving is hard and there are a lot of hidden expenses.

  2. Hugest of hugs. Moving is hard. We definitely hold onto stuff way to long and getting rid of things has proven so much harder than I thought. Wishing you all the best.
