A magical production! The Zip Zap Circus is joining forces with the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra Company, and the rousing voices of  Zolani Mahola, Zita Pretorius and Timothy Moloi to bring you Journey Beyond – Symphonic Circus. It will be on stage in Heritage Month, only for 3 days from 20-22 September at Joburg TheatreZip Zap’s founder, Brent van Rensburg, choreographer Adele Blank and conductor, Maestro Eddie Clayton, are excited to share this production.

2 sets of tickets (4 each) has been made available for a give-away. See below on how you can win. The previous time we heard about Zip-Zap Circus was at The Greatest Christmas at Menlyn last year. It was awesome!

"Journey Beyond – Symphonic Circus will feature the young members from Zip Zap Circus performing their gravity-defying and magical acts with the support of the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra. Both organisations give youth from different heritages in South Africa the opportunity to develop careers in performing arts."

Journey Beyond – Symphonic Circus has been performed with the assistance of an orchestra since 2017. The backing of an orchestra adds new levels of enthrallment and excitement that keeps theatre-goers on the edge of their seats. Demand for the shows continued performance across South Africa has resulted too.

Acts to look forward to include trapeze displays, aerial performers, acrobats, dancers, contortionists, balancers and jugglers all choreographed to the symphony of a full orchestra. The inspiration for Journey Beyond – Symphonic Orchestra was drawn from Cirque de la Symphonie who performed in South Africa previously and for whom Zip Zap Circus was the opening act.
You can expect the same high level of performance and artistry, except this time with a fully South African cast. In particular, it connects young South Africans and provides them with life-changing opportunities that would not have otherwise been available to them. This combination of heritages is particularly fitting since the show takes place during Heritage Month.
