Sprout Café gets a shout-out for health and great taste - Review

Sprout Café re-launched this past weekend. When I hear healthy and vegan, I usually don't need an extra prompt to get me there. It is very difficult to find restaurants that cater for vegetarians, and I love to try out interesting food. The whole family enjoyed our outing to Sprout in the Stoneridge Centre in Edenvale on Saturday. I grew up in the East Rand, and love seeing how my previous Valley is expanding. (How beautiful is Stoneridge Centre? You have to go!)

As I usually do a Wordless Wednesday, this is a perfect opportunity to share some of my photos of Saturday's outing.

We all had a smoothie to start with. We were very boring, and ordered directly from the menu. But you can design your own smoothie. Next time...  Miss Fine and I had the berry smoothie, and Hubby had the green power blast.  It was enough already to make us feel healthy for the rest of the week. 

 (The frown was because of the sun. ;-) )

Miss Fine picked from the Kid's menu. The crispy tofu and chips was a taste experience, and she will definitely order it again. It is also something different for kids to eat. A must try!

Hubby wasn't as adventurous, and he saw some of the waiters passing with hamburgers. So he ordered the hamburger with sweet potato fries. He says it was delicious and he was glad he ordered it! The beef burger, with the onion ring and other garnishes tasted divine!

I had the most adventurous and most delicious of all. (The others would disagree with me. :-)) I had the Sprocket from Sprout Faves on the Menu.  It's a tofu pocket filled with crispy tofu balls, sushi rice, topped with red cabbage, cucumber, hoisin, vegan mayo, spring onions and sesame seeds. This is to die for!

We will be back. Hubby says he would gladly drive there for the taste experience. We have to try the rest of the menu!

The best news! Sprout Café is planning to expand to Sunninghill in September. I can't wait.

The Stoneridge Centre is also great for families, as there are lots of interesting play areas for the children. There is a "climbing cage" (for the lack of a better word) just next to Sprout Café, so mom and dad can look on while juniors are having fun.
