Breather away at Dikhololo

We had a good rest at Dikhololo, a second year in a row. We are very blessed to be able to celebrate my Dad's birthday away in the Bush!

We complain about the eleven kilometers of bad dirt road we have to get there, and we even said this year was the last! But thinking back about the weekend, I have a rubber arm! I would be there in a flash if I get the chance. A weekend away is a great way to breath. I have been spamming my Instagram feeds. Sorry! Not sorry!

It was great to get away from the year that has started with a bang!

We had many visitors, like these cheeky guys. I think they were begging for food, but it's not allowed.

Miss did not stop swimming, and luckily her dad was a willing participant.

There was a thunderstorm and rain on Saturday afternoon, but that did not dampen our braai (barbecue) time! We were just as excited about the rain!

Walking or driving through Dikhololo convinced us that the drought is very much still strong in the North-West as well.

This is my Dad 79th birthday! Thanks, Dad, it was great to spend time in the Bush! Miss said it was the longest short weekend she ever had! She enjoyed is soooo much!

5 reasons that Dikhololo is such a great family destination

  • Swimming pools in all the accommodation areas, as well as a heated swimming pool.
  • So many activities for the kids: swimming, hiking, jumping pillow, games room, jungle gym, multi-court for cricket/soccer and basketball, supertube, playground, put-put, squash and tennis.
  • Hiking and bicycling are great around the resort, and there are also two high lookout points.
  • Game drives are available.
  • The local wildlife walks past the chalets and the children love getting close to them.

There's more to do, and now I realize we did not even get to do half of this.
There will be a next time...
