The simple things in life – the world according to Toddler

We are crawling around with the toddler. On the ground, looking at ants, picking up rocks, and smelling the flowers! It is the simple things that get the toddler excited. The more she gets excited, the more we get excited with her... The more we appreciate the simple things in life as well!

Simple things are not stupid things. Simple things in life mean going back to what-really-matters.

The floor/ground is a wonderful place to explore. Do you know how many things you can pick off from the ground?

A speck of woolly dust provides hours of fun:
  • Blowing it up in the air.
  • Laughing your head off at the way the speck of wool fly and fall to the ground.
  • Falling down on your knees, looking for the speck. “Ma-ma-ma?”
  • Sheer delight in finding it again! “Ma-MA!”
  • Trying to blow it again. And again. And again!
I love being able to experience the world anew with the toddler. We get to look at the world again with new eyes! Every-thing is worth an exploration!

The world is a fun place, you know!

What is the little things that amuses your little one?

  1. I agree 100%. I've learned to enjoy the simple things in life and focusing on the here and now being with my kids. With work there is always a focus on the future but my kids keep me grounded and focused on what really matters!

  2. This is such a terrific post :) thankyou for the reminder of just how awesome the world is through their eyes :). My toddler is just developing his imagination and yesterday he was playing with the sticky roller brush and pulled the sticky roll part off the holder, pretended to dip the holder back through the middle, blow imaginary bubbles and pretend to pop them! It was so much fin to watch that I started popping then too :D

  3. I love those moments. They are the BEST! Life is so scheduled, so when you find a time when you're just rolling around on the bed, wrestling and tickling (like the 3yo & I did yesterday)...awesome.
